Debut School of Performing Arts was founded in 2002 running Acting, Singing, Drama and LAMDA classes from our facilities in Essex.
A company renowned for it’s experience and expertise, Debut expanded to specialise it’s Lamda provision. TheLamdaLady.com offers expert guidance and support to young people taking online Lamda tuition and examinations world-wide. The Lamda Lady’s team of friendly yet professional teachers ensure that classes are always fun whilst being educational.

Our Founder and Principal, Rachel Roche MA, FRSA
Rachel Roche, AKA “The Lamda Lady”, is a private teacher with eighteen years experience teaching Acting, Public Speaking, Shakespeare and Poetry. She won a Scholarship to the highly esteemed Arts Educational School in London to study Acting for three years. She graduated from Drama School in ’98 and worked widely as an Actress on stage and screen from performing in Bill Kenwrights The Importance of being Earnest in the West End and touring to Warner Brothers Justice League Films. Rachel went on to gain an MA in Drama and Theatre at the John Moore University. She is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
Rachel went on to work for New Hall School in Boreham, Chelmsford as a Speech Teacher. She taught LAMDA examination lessons and led many Public Speaking teams to success at both Rotory and prestigious ESU-Churchill Public Speaking Competition and the Rotary Club Competions. Rachel prepared sixth formers for Head Girl/Boy, Prefect Work and University Interviews.
Leading her team of inspiring, highly experienced teachers, Rachel teaches LAMDA lessons at Brentwood School, St Marys School, Shenfield and her own drama school, established in 2002, The Debut School of Performing Arts. LAMDA classes are also available via our Online Learning Facility. Online classes are for both children and adults alike for either LAMDA or “One-Off” lessons for Public Speaking Events, Interview Technique or Audition to Drama School.
We work in a fun yet professional style helping our students to achieve outstanding results. We work with our students, building confidence whilst enhancing communication and performance skills in a safe, professional environment. Our students have 100% pass rate with 96% at Distinction.
Our teachers all hold Enhanced DBS checks, are First Aiders and have up-to-date Safeguarding training. We all teach Lamda in Infant, Junior and Senior schools and teach globally via our Online lessons. We are a Member of The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama.
